Rumbling In The Distance

As the field opens up before you, you hear it; the distant overture of the thunderheads rumbling across the landscape. As you stop on your trek, the trees have already told you that you need not fear. If you listened to their counsel, you know it's safe to rest here as the storms drift slowly past, not reaching the distant edge of the clearing. Idle your mind for a moment here, then, after the clouds have passed you can resume your journey.

This 10 x 8 soft pastel was done in studio, and made on textured archival art board.
